How to play Polygonle

Polygonle combines a word guessing game with a shape pattern. Each shape stands for a letter, so repeated shapes show you where the same letter appears.

1. Look at the shapes above the board. Matching shapes mean matching letters; different shapes mean different letters.
2. Guess a word of the displayed length. Green letters are correctly placed, yellow letters belong elsewhere, and gray letters are absent.
3. Combine the shape pattern with the color clues to find the hidden word before your guesses run out.

Choose your challenge

Choose Easy, Medium or Hard above the board. The word length and number of guesses change with the level; the board shows how many letters to enter.

A tip to get started

For the word LETTER, the second and fifth shapes would match because both are E. The third and fourth shapes would also match because both are T.

Does every guess have to follow the shapes?

No. In PuzzleVault’s version, a guess can use a different letter pattern. The shapes describe the answer and stay there to help you solve it.
