How to play Minute Cryptic

PuzzleVault’s Minute Cryptic collection offers 36 original mini cryptic clues, with hints and full explanations. Each clue gives you a definition and a second route to the answer through wordplay.

1. Read the clue and check the number in parentheses: it tells you how many letters the answer has.
2. Look for a definition and a wordplay instruction, such as rearranging, hiding or reversing letters. Both parts should lead to the same word.
3. Type your answer. If you get stuck, reveal a hint. Solve or reveal the answer to read the complete explanation.

Choose your challenge

There are 12 original clues in each of Easy, Medium and Hard. After you finish all 12 at a level, the collection repeats. You can try answers as often as you need.

A tip to get started

A word like “broken” can suggest rearranging letters. “Inside” may point to a hidden answer, and “returned” can suggest reading letters backwards.
